RAFT Activity
We're working on a RAFT activity that includes some new vocabulary. Here's the video we watched to help you review.
ETHOS, PATHOS, and LOGOS
RAFT stands for Role, Audience, Form, and Task. The assignment we're working on is below, along with the group roles.
Role - Katniss
Audience – Citizens
of Panem
Form – Persuasive
Speech
Task – Convince
them to rally against the 3rd Quarter Quell
GROUP ROLES
•Recorder –
Write out the speech as you and your group-mates talk it out.
•Speaker –
During the writing process, make sure that there are better word choices being
made (brilliant instead of smart; stunning instead of pretty; heart-breaking
instead of sad).
•Grammar
Police –
Contribute to the brainstorm and, after the speech is written, look for proper
punctuation and full, complete sentences.
•Content
Police –
make sure there are two rhetorical devices used (pathos, logos, ethos).
